Star Wars Offerings At Dublin Comic Con 2018

Hello to all you Motherhutters out there!

Once again Dublin Comic Con is upon us and with it comes a vast gathering of actors, cosplayers, artists and creators. We’ve assembled a list featuring a wide variety of offerings to ensure you still get your Star Wars Fix.

Team Blabba @ DCC

While we aren’t hosting our own panel this year, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a wide array of Star Wars offerings on show. We will of course be on the ground providing updates through our social media channels on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Expect to see us chatting with visitors, cosplayers and artists alike!

If you see us be sure to pop over and say hello.. we may even have a little souvenir for you!

With that in mind, lets check out the other Star Wars offerings at DCC.

Stormtroopers Panel- Sat 11th Aug in Panel Room 2 @ 4pm

Team Blabba have been extremely fortunate to be allowed into the inner sanctum of the Stormtroopers Movie. From early access to trailers and the movie itself, the folks behind this fan film will deliver what will no doubt be an incredibly interesting Panel.

The panel promises to be an eclectic mix of interviews and stories from behind the scenes. Writer/Producer Michael Fitzgerald also starred in the production and will be on hand to answer any questions from budding writers and filmmakers.

Panel guests will also have the opportunity to get up close and personal with movie accurate props and some other surprises along the way.

Costuming Clubs

Both the Emerald Garrison and the 501st Legion will be in attendance at DCC. Both societies do incredible work for numerous charities across Ireland and you’ll have an opportunity to get up close and personal with characters from A Galaxy Far Far Away.

Be sure to have your camera ready as you never know who (or what) may turn up, from pointing Tank Commanders to Pesky Jawa’s, expect the unexpected!

This is a real opportunity to up your selfie game and add something unique to the collection. Each society may have a unique hashtag they will be promoting from so ask a member of staff, this allows the societies to view the photos and share them across their platforms.

The Emerald Garrison will be utilising the #EGDCC, so if you snap a photo and post it to social media be sure to include that.

Star Wars Art

DCC will feature numerous artists showcasing their talents across multiple platforms! This means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to check out creations in a wide range of styles. Below is but a small portion of the offerings available at DCC:

Wayne Talbot (Rogue Comics Ireland)

The awesome folks at Rogue Comics Ireland are some of the hardest working people in the industry today. Since their inception in 2017, their popularity has sky rocketed.  We highly recommend you check out their booth as you’ll find some amazing comic books from some of the most talented artists Ireland has to offer.

Our good friend Wayne is showcasing an art piece dedicated to “The Smooth Talking Scoundrel” Lando Calrissian. You can find this print at the Rogue Comics Ireland Booth.

Deans Art

Dean McCann is attending only his second DCC but his artistic flair and style really impressed visitors at his booth. Dean will be showcasing an assortment of Art prints that are sure to please all Comic Con attendees.

Now onto the Star Wars prints which are sure to be a hit! Team Blabba are proud owners of Dean’s work and we are sure you will be too. Check out the awesome prints that will be available below (plus many more):

Bowled Over NI

A new entry to the DCC scene, Bowled Over produce uniquely designed character bowl lights for all occasions. The lights are child friendly, made from plastic and feature a simple push button LED light which runs on AAA batteries.

Bowled Over NI is run by Shauna McKeown who was kind enough to reach out to us and show us some samples of her amazing work. You’ll find everything from Disney to DC and Bruce Lee! Check out the amazing Star Wars offerings from Bowled Over:

Signing Off

Well there you have it folks.. The Eve of DCC is upon us once more, it will no doubt be a fantastic spectacle (as it always is). This list is by no means a be all and end all, it is merely a “starter pack” to point you in the right direction when it comes to all things Star Wars.
