Concert season is well and truly underway and we have a very special event to share with you. Our regular listeners will no doubt know we are enormous fans of music and in particular the Legendary John Williams. Our good friends from the RTE Concert Orchestra are treating us to another masterful performance in The National Concert Hall.
But this show has an extra special meaning, raising funds for a phenomenal cause and paying tribute to one of their own, Nicole Fischer.
RTE Concert Orchestra
Last year Team Blabba were granted access to The Orchestra during final preparations for their “May The Fourth Performance”, and what an experience it was! Formed in 1948 as a small studio recording group, they have evolved into a fully fledged over 45 member strong Orchestra playing over 80 shows per year. The Orchestra playlist encompasses an eclectic mix of classic favourites to big band smash hits.
On May 20th at 8pm, The RTE Concert Orchestra warmly invites you to A Night of John Williams Music in Tribute to Nicole Fisher. An incredibly special and no doubt moving performance.
Conducting the Orchestra is none other than Maestro David Brophy. Check out the video below to see David and the Orchestra in action in 2011:
The Orchestra playlist will feature everything from Star Wars, Jaws, ET, Superman and Jurassic Park to name all but a few.
Raising Money For A Worthy Cause
The RTE Concert Orchestra are paying tribute to their colleague Nicole Fisher who sadly passed away earlier in the year. While honouring Nicole’s memory, the concert will be in aid of a wonderful charity: The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust. This organisation aids in alleviating the financial hardships of families who have lost loved ones abroad through tragic or sudden circumstances.
